So you had a great time at one of our social events for singles over 35. You met a couple of people you’d like to see again, but you didn’t feel comfortable asking for their number, or sharing yours.
Our in-house Connect and Chat service was launched in 2025 and is available to everyone who attends our events.
It keeps things safe and gives you the confidence that you can get to know people better without giving them your phone number or email address straight away.
What is our Connect and Chat service?
Our Connect and Chat service was developed in-house as a way to offer extra value to our members.
It’s not a full on chat system like WhatsApp, but it allows you to submit connection requests to people you’d like to continue the conversation with, and send messages back and forth if they accept.
No need to share your personal contact details until you feel totally comfortable.
How does the Connect and Chat service work?
Around one hour after an event you’ll receive a “thanks for joining us” email. Within this email is a link to our Connect and Chat feature – you can also find this by tapping on your profile photo and choosing “Connect & Chat”. You’ll only be able to access it if you’re logged into your Single & Mingle account.

What are our singles events like?
Single & Mingle are The Social Club for Singles over 35 – we’ve been going since 2021 and have connected thousands of singles in real life in Cardiff and beyond.
You’ll notice across our website that our singles events are referred to as meetups, socials, gatherings, get togethers, and events – and unlike many other singles events in Cardiff, they’re less about the pressures of dating and finding “the one”, and more about being part of a friendly and welcoming community of like-minded people. This is where other dating experiences fall short (in our opinion).
